The coffee cups can be ordered as individual cups or a set of six.  This would  be a unique gift for someone.  Purchase of the cups are available for American Legion Auburn Post 78 members. Click on the cups to see a closeup.  The cups are not in stock so allow time for printing and shipping, usually about 2 weeks once they are ordered.

Service Officer Alert

Post 78 Service Officer, Joe Reed, made an announcement at our Post meeting February 6th that may have an impact on the lives of some Veterans.  The Federal Government is going to stop issuing paper checks to Veterans.  All payments will be either by direct deposit or to a government credit card.

It the the Veteran has a checking or savings account the payment will be made into the Veterans account.  If a Veteran does not have a checking or savings account the Veteran will be issued a government credit card that can be used like any other credit card.   The credit card will be automatically recharged each time a payment is made.

Please share this information with Veterans that may be impacted and advise them to contact the Veterans Administration.

American Legion Family

The American Legion and the Auxiliary  is made up of dedicated Veterans and their spouses.  Post 78 continues to grow and have an impact on the lives of Veterans and their families through the dedication of its members.  We have several members who have children, grand children, aunts, uncles and close friends continuing to serve the United States of America.  We need to acknowledge these dedicated people that have followed in our footsteps and chose to serve their Commander and Chief.   Our forefathers picked up their arms and put themselves in harms way to provide a country where people have the right to disagree with each other without fear of persecution.  It is time we recognize the young men and women we know that are continuing this tradition. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY WE ASSOCIATE OURSELVES TOGETHER
FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES:

To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America;

To maintain law and order;

To foster and perpetuate a one hundred percent Americanism;

To preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in the Great Wars;

To inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community state and nation;

To combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses;

To make right the master of might;

To promote peace and goodwill on earth;

To safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy;

To consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.

(What do the statements mean?)
